Backwash filter heads include drain caps and water filter caps, both made of ABS engineering plastic. They feature rational structure, secure connections, high compressive strength, non-deforming gaps, and excellent performance. They prevent anion/cation resin outflow while ensuring proper flow. Suitable for air-water backwash systems in filter tanks, as well as filtration devices in water softening systems, pressure-type, return-type, and ion exchange equipment.
Filter caps are manufactured from ABS engineering plastic with high compressive strength, resistant to crushing under tread. The filter head structure incorporates reinforced threads and rubber washers for permanent, secure connections. The base design of the filter cap enhances bottom slots, eliminating dead zones and mud accumulation between the filter plate and cap. Widely applied in water treatment filters, filter tanks, modular/return-type ion exchange columns, and various specification of filter caps for ion exchange columns, activated carbon filters, and rapid filter tank drainage systems.
Backwash filter heads: filter heads are air-water backwash distribution devices at the bottom of filter tanks. They effectively flush sludge and debris from filter tanks to ensure normal water quality and quantity operation. Filter head types include (long/short shank) mushroom, plum blossom, tower, and cylindrical shapes, all made of ABS engineering plastic with rational structure, secure connections, high compressive strength, and non-deforming gaps. They eliminate dead zones and mud accumulation between filter plates. Long shank filter heads are commonly used in air-water backwash distribution systems; short shank filter heads are used in single-water backwash systems, gravity/pressure filter tanks, and ion exchange filter beds. Working Principle
Filtration is a critical process in water treatment. During filter tank operation, as the pollutant load on the filter media increases over the working cycle, the porosity of the filter media decreases, sludge penetration deepens, and flow resistance increases, leading to reduced filtration velocity and rising water levels in the tank, ultimately increasing effluent turbidity. To restore normal operation and ensure water quality and quantity, backwashing is required to agitate the filter media layer on the filter plate.
Practical experience shows that air-water backwashing outperforms water-only backwashing. Air-water backwashing disrupts mud ball structures in the filter media. During air flushing, intense vibration causes repeated collisions and friction between filter media particles, preventing mud ball formation and breaking up existing mud balls. This releases adhered substances from all filter media particles, which are then carried away by backwash water.
Air-Water Backwash Filter Head Performance
Filter heads are divided into Type A (long shank) and Type B (short shank). Type A is used in air backwash distribution systems of filter tanks; Type B is used in single-water backwash systems, gravity/pressure filter tanks, and ion exchange filter beds. These filter heads are made from imported ABS engineering plastic with high strength and durability. The reinforced thread design with rubber washers ensures permanent connections. The filter cap base features enhanced bottom slots to eliminate dead zones and mud accumulation with the filter plate.
